RULES & REGULATIONS 2026
Deadline for inscription: 1st of May 2026 at midnight (Central European Time, CET)
APPLICATION
The Competition is open to violinists of all nationalities aged 0–25 years old on the inscription deadline date (1st of May 2026, midnight CET). The Competition is strictly apolitical: no nationality will ever be excluded or treated differently, regardless of political circumstances.
Age Categories
Category I: 0–11 years old
Category II: 12–16 years old
Category III: 17–25 years old
Age is determined strictly by the participant’s age on the application deadline date. For example: Category I is for those who have not reached their 12th birthday on the application deadline date; Category II is for those who have reached 12 but not 17 on the application deadline date; Category III is for those who have reached 17 but not 26 on the application deadline date. No exceptions will be made.Application fees (non-refundable):

Applications must include:
Completed application form
Video recordings according to repertoire requirements
Payment made in full
Once all of these requirements are received and verified, a confirmation email will be sent to the candidate.
For participants under 18, a parent or legal guardian must give consent directly in the online inscription form.
PROGRAM / REPERTOIRE
All works must be performed from memory, except sonatas with piano and contemporary works.
Repertoire cannot be changed after submission.
Any repertoire chosen for the preselection round may not be repeated in the jury evaluation round.
Category I (0–11 years old)
Preselection: one free-choice piece + one étude
Jury Evaluation: free-choice program, minimum duration 5 minutes. (Repertoire must differ from the preselection round)
Category II (12–16 years old)
Preselection: one Caprice from Niccolò Paganini, 24 Capricci per violino solo, Op. 1 + one free-choice piece
Jury Evaluation: free-choice program, minimum duration 7 minutes. (Repertoire must differ from the preselection round)
Category III (17–25 years old)
Preselection: one Caprice from Niccolò Paganini, 24 Capricci per violino solo, Op. 1 + two consecutive movements from Johann Sebastian Bach, Sonatas and Partitas for Solo Violin, BWV 1001–1006, or the Chaconne in D minor, BWV 1004
Jury Evaluation: free-choice program, minimum duration 15 minutes. (Repertoire must differ from the preselection round)
VIDEO SUBMISSIONS
Videos must be recorded within the last 12 months prior to submission. In case of doubt, the Organizer may request proof (metadata, date confirmation, or witness statement).
Candidates may upload multiple video files, but the entire required program of both the Preselection Round and the Jury Evaluation Round must be submitted together in one submission before 1st of May 2026. All required works must be included at the same time. Submitting only the Preselection Program is not permitted under any circumstances. No additional, replacement, or late recordings will be accepted after the deadline.
Recording requirements:
Each piece must be recorded in one continuous take, without editing within the piece.
Each required piece may be submitted as a separate video, or candidates may combine them into one file if preferred.
The video(s) must clearly and steadily show the performer’s hands and face at all times.
Professional equipment is not required; smartphones or home equipment are acceptable, provided the sound is clear and of sufficient quality for fair judging.
Audio may not be artificially edited or enhanced.
Backgrounds, camera quality, or room acoustics will not affect the jury’s evaluation, provided clarity is maintained.
Preferable, but not mandatory: place a visible clock in the background to demonstrate the authenticity of the recording.
JURY & EVALUATION
The preselection will be made by the President of the Jury.
The Jury will consist of internationally recognized violinists and professors.
Jury deliberations are confidential; their decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
Jury members abstain from voting on their own students.
The Jury reserves the right not to award certain prizes if the required level is not achieved.
Prizes cannot be split. Each prize (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) may only be awarded to one candidate, or not awarded at all.
Results will be sent by email and published on the official website and social media.
Invitations to the Jury Evaluation Round will be sent on 11th of May 2026 at midnight (CET).
The final results will be announced on 1st of June 2026 at 12:00 (midday CET), and communicated by email, on the Competition’s website, and via social media.
Candidates who do not win a prize or do not pass the preselection may request feedback from the Jury after the conclusion of the Competition.
PRIZES
Diplomas of Participation (digital) will be awarded only to candidates who have passed the preselection.
Prizes are non-transferable and may be subject to taxes and fees depending on the recipient’s country.
Category I (0–11 years old):
1st Prize: €150 + online masterclass with a Jury member + diploma
2nd Prize: online masterclass with a Jury member + diploma
3rd Prize: online masterclass with a Jury member + diploma
Category II (12–16 years old):
1st Prize: €250 + online masterclass with a Jury member + diploma
2nd Prize: online masterclass with a Jury member + diploma
3rd Prize: online masterclass with a Jury member + diploma
Category III (17–25 years old):
1st Prize: €500 + online masterclass with a Jury member + diploma
2nd Prize: online masterclass with a Jury member + diploma
3rd Prize: online masterclass with a Jury member + diploma
IMAGE, SOUND & DATA PROTECTION
By applying, participants (or guardians) grant the Organizer the non-exclusive, royalty-free right to record, publish, and use submitted videos, names, and images for promotion, broadcast, and archival purposes, worldwide and without time limit.
No financial claims can be made for such use.
Personal data will be processed only for competition administration in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Belgian law.
For minors, parental consent is required directly in the application form. For children under 13, only a parent or legal guardian may give consent.
Participants (or guardians) have GDPR rights of access, rectification, erasure, and withdrawal of consent. Withdrawal does not affect lawful use of data and recordings already made before the withdrawal, but it applies to any future use.
GENERAL RULES
Unsporting or disrespectful behavior toward the Organizer, the Jury, or other candidates may result in exclusion.
Dishonesty or manipulation of recordings will lead to disqualification.
Application implies full acceptance of these Rules & Regulations.
The Organizer reserves the right to amend the rules, change scheduling, or cancel the Competition in case of force majeure or circumstances beyond its control.
The Organizer is not liable for internet failures, technical issues, or external disruptions.
Belgian law applies. The courts of Brussels have jurisdiction.
